These definitely serve a purpose, and if you get one that pulls well out of the package you are lucky. Lately, these are much harder to pull and I have had some unlucky experiences where the pod doesn't hit the warming element right.  But for this price, what can you expect.

Pods leak after a few uses with the sticky fluid backing up into the air ways making them unusable. This happened with three pods.
